Gattuso: We will have to make unpopular decisions to preserve the greatness of Valencia

The new head coach of Valencia, Gennaro Gattuso, gave his first interview as the coach of the Spanish club.

“I know what was going on with Valencia last year. We talked about our view of the team, the game, the schemes, the tactical aspects, but above all we want the players to have desire, fire inside, want to win. We need players who think that playing for Valencia is like playing for Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Gedesh and Soler are very important for the team from a technical point of view. I want to talk to them, I want to know what will happen to them. If they leave, I want players who come with the same enthusiasm and mentality.

I want to see a game where we own the ball. I want maximum professionalism and maximum respect. But we will have to make unpopular decisions to preserve the greatness of our century-old club.”
